The full service Knox County Regional Airport with daily scheduled jet service to Boston is located in Owls Head, just 12 miles and 20 minutes from Meduncook Bay Colony; Bangor International Airport and Portland International Jetport are easily accessible and U.S. 1 and I-95 provide easy connection by land.
Recreational opportunities abound. Kayak in protected Meduncook Bay or, for the more adventurous, on the open ocean a half-mile away. Day trip to Acadia National Park, Mount Katahdin or to the many whitewater adventures of Maine. Golf at several local courses including The Samoset Resort in nearby Rockport with world-class golf club and tennis facilities. Climb Hornbarn Hill located within Meduncook Bay Colony and enjoy spectacular views from the highest geological feature in the region. Boat along the Maine Coast or drop anchor near one of the many islands from the convenience of your protected Meduncook Bay mooring, available from the Town of Cushing.
Area cultural organizations include the Farnsworth Museum, the Owls Head Transportation Museum, the Center for Contemporary Artists and Bay Chamber Concerts. Cushing is home to renowned painter Andrew Wyeth and the Olsen House made famous in Christina’s World.
